The SXD file extension stands for StarOffice Drawing and is associated with the StarOffice Draw program, now known as OpenOffice Draw. It is a vector graphics format used for creating and storing technical illustrations, including drawings, charts, and other visual data. Originally developed by Oracle, SXD files save vector elements such as points, lines, and curves, and may also include raster graphics. The format has since been integrated into the OpenDocument standard used by OpenOffice and Apache OpenOffice.
A POT file, short for PowerPoint Template, is a legacy file format used by Microsoft PowerPoint versions 97 through 2003. It contains default layouts, formatting, and styles for slide shows, enabling users to create multiple presentations with consistent design. Since PowerPoint 2007, the Open XML format (POTX) has replaced the older binary format, offering improved file size, security, and interoperability. Despite this, newer versions of PowerPoint can still open and save POT files.
