Comic Book RAR Archive (.cbr)
The CBR (Comic Book RAR Archive) file extension is used for storing and displaying digital comic books. It compresses a series of images, typically in JPEG, PNG, or GIF formats, into a single RAR archive, facilitating easy sequential viewing. Originating in the 1990s, the CBR format was popularized by David Ayton's CDisplay software, which optimized the reading experience by automatically ordering pages. This format has since become a standard for digital comics, supported by various comic book reader applications.
