Unified Font Object (.ufo)

The Unified Font Object (UFO) is an XML-based file format for digital fonts, developed by Tal Leming, Just van Rossum, and Erik van Blokland. First released in 2003, it is designed to be cross-platform, human-readable, and application-independent. UFO files store font data in a structured manner, allowing for easy data exchange and manipulation across different font editing tools. The format has evolved through several versions, with UFO 3 being the latest release in 2012.
